Oman Muscat is the old part of the capital which contains within its walls the Sultan’s palace, the port and several ruined forts. While Mutrah is famous for what some describe as the best bazaar of the Arab world, one of the world’s best hotels, full of oriental luxury, is in Oman. Another major region is Nizwa at the foothills of the Hajar mountains. The Friday animals’ market is also very interesting.
